This body of work centres around the beauty arisen from devastation and darkness. A continuation of the printmaking series Presence of Nature 2019, this 2020 series grew out of the bushfires that ravaged through Australia, especially on the South Coast of NSW where I live, in the summer of 2020. It is stories arisen from darkness that has turned into light, beauty and hope. It is an acknowledgement of nature’s power to create change – whether we like it or not – and the immense visual beauty that can be found in deterioration.
